Social wellness

Through our partnerships with national community organizations, we promote the social well-being and health of Canadians, with a focus on mental and physical wellness for youth between the ages of 18 and 25. We strive to increase access to services, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and build mental resiliency among young Canadians.

Kids Help Phone: providing enhanced mental-health support through texting services

Co-operators is a founding partner of the Crisis Text Line powered by Kids Help Phone, which provides youth with enhanced support via a confidential, 24/7 texting service, ensuring they receive the help they need, when they need it, in the way they prefer. By texting CONNECT to 686868, youth can access a trained, volunteer Crisis Responder for support on any issue. This partnership supports the psychological well-being of youth, which helps to build stronger communities.

Enactus Canada: supporting the mental health of post-secondary students and their communities

Our partnership with Enactus Canada focuses on building the mental health and resiliency of post-secondary students, while providing students with the opportunity to do the same in their communities. Together, we established Co-operators Mental Wellness Project Accelerator providing Enactus student teams with opportunities for funding and mentorship around projects that support mental wellness in their communities.

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA): raising awareness of mental health

Our partnership allows the CMHA to provide a wide range of innovative services and supports to people and their families who are experiencing mental illness. Co-operators supports CMHA’s annual Mental Health for All conference, which brings together leaders and advocates who set the mental-health agenda in Canada.
