If you call London home, you’ll probably know that this city is also popularly known as ‘The Forest City’. That’s because it was originally established in 1826 by clearing land in the middle of a thick forest. As a matter of fact, several London neighbourhoods are built from local woodlands. More trees were cleared during both World Wars to meet construction demands and today it is one of Ontario’s largest municipalities. The London area has also given the entertainment industry some of its biggest names like Justin Bieber, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

Victoria Park is one of London’s major attractions. It was originally designed as a British military base and cricket ground but is today the city’s biggest gathering place for families. Then there’s the 109-kilometre Thames Valley Trail, which runs along the Thames River. It is paved and passes through a few of London’s other parks, including Gibbons and Springbank parks.

Halfway between Toronto and Detroit, London is geographically well located and enjoys good connectivity with other major cities in the area. Highways 401 and 402 connect it to Toronto, Windsor and Sarnia.
