Scott graduated from Dalhousie University Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) Program in 2002 and immersed himself in the insurance industry shortly thereafter. He worked alongside his father who retired in 2011 after 42 years of being the owner of the agency. Scott and his sister, Denise Lutz, took over the company and continued to build on the successes of their father’s legacy.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial and insurance services industry, Scott helps his clients plan for their financial security and specializes in retirement planning, life insurance planning and estate planning. He obtained his Certified Financial Planners® designation in 2015, his Chartered Life Underwriters® designation in 2020 and his Certified Executors Advisor designation in 2021. Scott achieved the Dunstall Award for obtaining the highest mark on his CLU® exam in Nova Scotia.

In 2013 Scott was the recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award presented by the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2016 Scott received Rotarian of the Year Award and in 2017 he received the Community Impact Award from the Chamber.

Scott is active in his community and has held many roles over the years, such as past president of the Yarmouth Rotary Club, past scout leader, past board member of the CBDC Yarmouth and he also sat on the audit and finance committee. Scott is currently serving as the president for the South Ohio Community Centre and he delivers Meals on Wheels once a month.

Amy Amirault

Associate Insurance Advisor

Amy joined Co-operators in 2023 as a Client Contact Representative and obtained her General Insurance Licence shortly thereafter. Prior to joining Co-operators, Amy worked in the UK insurance industry and has over 10 years’ experience with sales and customer service and holds an Office Administration diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College. Amy is active in her community and volunteers with South West Pride Association and Salle Père-Maurice-LeBlanc Theatre in Tusket.

Born and raised in East Jeddore, Nova Scotia, she married a Yarmouth local and they have a beautiful daughter together. In her free time, you can find Amy volunteering in the community and providing doula services for low-income mothers.

Cathy Gavel

Associate Insurance Advisor

Cathy joined Co-operators in 2011 as a Customer Service Representative, obtaining her General Insurance Licence shortly thereafter and quickly moving in the role of Office Co-ordinator. Cathy has over 40 years of experience in office management and customer service, which makes her a fantastic asset to the team.

Cathy is the first smiling face you'll see when you walk through our doors and she keeps our office running smoothly.

Georgette Frotten

Associate Insurance Advisor

Specializing in business insurance, Georgette came to Co-operators in 2021 with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Georgette graduated from NSCC Burridge Campus in 2000, at which time she started her career working at an insurance brokerage specializing in personal home and auto insurance. She received her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker Designation in 2016. Since joining Co-operators, Georgette has obtained her Life Insurance Licence.

Georgette is dedicated to helping business owners and understands the importance of protecting their businesses against losses due to unforeseen events. Her attention to detail and product knowledge helps her find the right insurance solutions for her clients. Georgette continues to look forward to servicing her existing clients, as well as forming relationships with new clients.

Georgette was born and raised in Lower West Pubnico. She is currently living in Wedgeport with her husband and two boys.

Joey Jacquard

Associate Insurance Advisor

Specializing in home and auto insurance, Joey moved to Co-operators in 2014 and has over 20 years of insurance experience. Joey obtained his General Insurance Licence in 2004 and is a graduate of the Canadian Accredited Insurance Brokers program. He holds diplomas in Hospitality and Office Information Technology from the Nova Scotia Community College.

Joey was born and raised in Wedgeport and currently resides there. In his free time, Joey volunteers with the local Meals on Wheels program to help provide nutritious meals to people in their homes who are unable to prepare adequate meals for themselves. He loves sports, especially golf, playing cards and watching the latest Marvel movie with his two incredible daughters. Joey is a well-respected member of his community. He loves getting to know new people and is dedicated to all his current clients.

Nick Bourque

Associate Insurance Advisor II

Nick joined Co-operators in 2024 and has been working in the insurance industry since 2018, providing insurance to the people of Yarmouth and surrounding area. Nick firmly believes in putting clients first and maintaining client relationships as a top priority.

Specializing in commercial fishing marine insurance, Nick is well-equipped with the skill and knowledge to provide clients with the proper protection should the unforeseen happen. Nick is also available for your personal home, auto and business insurance.

Nick is involved in the community, serving on the Golf Course Tournament Committee and the Yarmouth Minor Hockey Board. He's very competitive in nature and can be found on the golf course during the summer months and at the hockey rink during the winter.
