2017 Alzheimer Society Soup's On
2017 Alzheimer Society Soup's On

In January, our staff participated for our 11th year, helping to raise over $50,000 for the Alzheimer Society of Perth County as part of their annual Soup’s On fundraising event. Our team was one of 35 donor-vendors to prepare and serve delicious soups for over 4,000 local attendees. This year, our deliciously unique Moonshine and Mushroom soup received the runner-up People’s Choice Award! Come out and see us next year as we unveil our next creation and show our support for this wonderful cause!

• Two residential hospice sites for Huron/Perth to serve the broad geographical area
• Establish one site in Huron located in the Clinton area, starting with four beds with room to expand to accommodate expected demand of six to eight beds
• The Perth site will be built in Stratford as a standalone facility on vacant property located behind the Greenwood Court Long Term Care facility, which has been generously offered by Tri-County Mennonite Homes. This facility will be built to accommodate 10 beds and initially operate six beds.
• The two residential hospice sites will be run by one board of directors and one management team. The board will be comprised of a maximum of 12 members with the goal of a minimum of four members from each county.
• Each site will have a local organization that will be responsible for raising the capital to build their facility and for annual fundraising to cover the shortfall in operating funds for their site over and above the SW LHIN per-bed funding.
The Residential Hospice Stratford Perth Steering Committee is very pleased with the released report and is excited to move the project ahead based on the recommendations.
