Keep dependant eligibility information up to date
Post-secondary enrolments are around the corner, often bringing a big financial commitment and life changes for new students. Fortunately, your plan members’ post-secondary children may be eligible to participate in your group plan, helping ease the transition.
Along with cost savings, they’ll benefit from access to holistic care – for example a massage after an exam, or physio after an intramural injury. Now that student eligibility forms are in, we rely on you to verify that all eligible dependents are covered under your plan and to document other types of plan member status changes.
Here are the top five eligibility-related tasks Plan Administrators need to complete in Benefits Now for Plan Sponsors (BNPS):
- Add new plan members and dependents (within 31 days of their eligibility date)
- Terminate plan members and dependents (within 31 days of last active day worked)
- Update addresses after a move
- Update salaries
- Update beneficiaries when necessary
