The Co-operators to launch new Medication Management Program
In the coming months, The Co-operators will launch a new Medication Management Program to enhance support for plan members who require specialty medications for complex, chronic conditions. This program balances the health needs of plan members with the cost management needs of plan sponsors.
The primary objectives of the program are to:
- Manage the cost of drug claims (i.e. specialty medications)
- Engage all health care parties (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, insurers and patients) to achieve the best possible health outcome from the medication the patient is using – right drug, right patient, right time
Speciality medications can be costly and can impact the sustainability of your drug plan. Our Medication Management Program will support plan members and their physicians to help identify the most effective and appropriate treatment, and provide ongoing maintenance and monitoring – ensuring plan members have access to the vital drug therapies they need, while maintaining affordable group benefits plans.
