If you own a boat, you obviously enjoy the freedom of heading off into the open water. There’s nothing like it. The enjoyment you get every time you set sail or start the engine confirms your decision to invest in a boat. So the last thing you want to do is spend time worrying about a financial loss. That’s why you will take comfort knowing you can get coverage specifically designed to protect your watercraft.

To make sure you get the coverage you need for your watercraft, your agent will need to collect all the necessary information, including the type of boat you own, its condition, insurable value, and intended use. Your agent will also need information on the watercraft’s owners and operators. Once all this information has been collected, your agent will be able to determine what type of coverage you need.

Our watercraft program consists of the Boating Equipment Endorsement, which is designed for smaller boats valued under $70,000 and not more than 7.9 metres (26 feet) in length. This endorsement includes:

• Coverage for your boat and all equipment permanently attached to the hull, spars, sails, tackle, motor, trailer and accessories as specifically described.
• 30-day Coverage for newly acquired watercraft from date of acquisition up to $5,000 and if 15 years old or less.
