Versatile Portfolios™ Retirement Income plans

With retirement income options from The Co-operators, you can enjoy a guaranteed income, potential market growth, or a combination of both. An annuity offers a guaranteed income, and our Versatile Portfolios™ offer several options that provide choice, potential growth and flexibility.

What is a Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)?

A RRIF is essentially an extension of an RRSP. You can seamlessly transfer your RRSP into a Versatile Portfolios™ RRIF.

You’ll continue to receive tax-sheltered growth until the funds are withdrawn from the RRIF. The value of your RRIF and how long your income from it will last depends on how well your investments perform and how much you withdraw from the plan each year.

Determine your payments with our RRIF calculator.

If you want to know more, we’ve put together a simple explanation of RRIFs and other retirement income options.

Other retirement fund options

While RRIFs are by far the most popular, we offer other options for retirement income funds if you have specific needs that a RRIF can’t fulfill. Ask your Financial Advisors for more details when you sit down with them, or visit our Types of Investment Accounts section for more information.

Why get your retirement income fund from us?

Only an insurance company can offer the safety of segregated funds, which guarantee either some or all of your initial capital depending on the plan chosen.

Purchasing your Versatile Portfolios retirement income plan

Contact one of our Financial Advisors and sit down with one of them to get their friendly guidance on the retirement income plans that suit your savings and your lifestyle. They’ll assess your risk level and point you to the plan that’s right for you. If you want to find out your risk level in advance, we’ve got a questionnaire that will help you figure it out.
