Sharon Johnston – Sales Associate
Jeremy August - Associate Agent
Sharon was born in Winnipeg and started working in insurance in 1969. After taking some time off to raise her family, she joined The Co-operators in March of 1995. Sharon specializes in home and auto insurance and says her favourite part of her job is being front line staff and interacting with the public. Losing her husband, Ken, to pancreatic cancer Sharon has found a new perspective on life. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and having family dinners. A year ago Sharon became a grandmother to the cutest little girl, Brooklyn, who is the apple of her eye. She has found a wonderful companion in Barry with whom she so enjoys spending time with.
Jeremy grew up in Edmonton before moving to Lethbridge to play college baseball while studying Communications & Canadian History. Major League scouts eventually decided that Jeremy would make a better insurance agent than baseball player. He has now been with the Co-operators since 2006. His focus is helping clients with Life and Commercial insurance planning. He says the best part of working in insurance is all of the people involved, the clients and the staff. In his off time Jeremy enjoys travelling & playing golf – working towards one day cracking the PGA Seniors Tour and winning the Rookie of the Year award on his 65th birthday.
Dawn Buckingham – Sales Associate
Svetlana Mooney - Associate Agent
Dawn was born in Ontario, and grew up in Calgary. She worked at the Wildrose Licence & Registry for 4 years before coming to Co-operators in December of 2006. Dawn helps to take care of auto and home insurance. Helping people and giving them peace of mind that they are taken care of is Dawn’s favourite part of her job. She enjoys going camping, hiking and playing pool with her husband Chris. Dawn and her husband just welcomed their first child to the family, a wonderful boy Kristian.
Born in the former Yugoslavia (now Serbia), Svetlana enjoyed being part of theatre productions. She came to Canada in 1996, and lived in Winnipeg before moving to Calgary in 2000. She joined The Co-operators in 2005 where she enjoys continuously learning and getting to know the clients. Svetlana specializes in commercial, life and retirement planning. She is currently working on her financial planner designation. In Svetlana's spare time she enjoys relaxing at home with her family, visiting with friends, golfing and debating politics.
Elizabeth Crispe - Sales Associate
Heather Peters – Sales Associate
Liz was born in Victoria, BC and grew up in Calgary, AB. She attended SAIT and obtained a Business Administration Diploma. She worked in the Banking industry for 12 years. After the birth of her son, she decided to switch careers and entered into the Insurance Industry, where she enjoys the diversity and challenges each day brings. Liz started with the Co-operators, Oakridge office in 2009. In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with her 7 year old son, family barbeques, and catching up on the latest Entertainment news.
Heather is a Canadian who; after her life long dream of having her face on the “Wheaties” cereal box did not pan out, worked and traveled for A few years. She hooked up with the Co-operators in 2009, and has not looked back. Heather loves the people aspect of the business and is thrilled to go to work every day. On almost a daily basis, Heather enjoys her husband Darrell, her dog Gus, hiking, music, travel, eating mangos, sun, surf, and wrestling alligators.
Caroline Charikar - Agency Support
Caroline was born in Israel and moved to Calgary with her family in 1991. After finishing her BA in Psychology in 2008 she worked with Autistic children, which was a very challenging but rewarding experience. Caroline joined Oakridge Cooperators Insurance in 2010. She thoroughly enjoys the office atmosphere, and enjoys using her customer service skills, which she strengthened while working in Walt Disney World. She loves helping customers and makes sure they leave with a smile. In her spare time, Caroline loves to listen to music, dance, travel and spend time with her family.
