Meals on Wheels Huronia Hospital Foundation
Since  1997 Barbara and her staff have been working with the Canadian Red Cross Meals on Wheels Program. Sometimes they pack the meals in the local hospital’s kitchen, other times they deliver to the clients. Either way it is a rewarding experience knowing they are making a difference in peoples lives. If you would like information about volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross please contact Patricia Pommet at patricia.pommet@redcross.ca The Huronia Hospital Foundation is responsible for Public Relations on behalf of the North Simcoe Hospital Alliance and for raising funds to improve patient care, for capital equipment, special programs and general improvements. We work with the Community Action Team to support fundraising efforts and make phone calls to thank those who make donations. We all need our hospitals and this is just one way Barbara’s office is helping to keep the hospitals strong. Click here for more information.
Car Seat Inspector Huronia Communities Foundation (HCF)
Barbara Jones became a Child Car Seat Inspector in 1999. Working with the local police services (the OPP and the Midland Town Police) as well as the local Public Health Unit, this group provides monthly car seat inspection clinics. “The best part about doing inspections is knowing that you are helping to keep a family safe”, says Barbara. If you are a parents or grandparent of a child who is using a child restrain system in the car, please call us and we will arrange to view the seat and help ensure that it is properly installed. Huronia Communities Foundation exists to support other charities whose work helps make Huronia a better place in which to live… a charity for charities. The Foundation funds initiatives from a broad spectrum of interests including arts and culture, health, education, sports and recreation, social services, youth, seniors, relief of poverty, animal welfare, and the environment.
